The Northstar Ventures Scout Program is a selective network of operators, founders, investors, and ecosystem builders who help us identify exceptional early-stage companies around the world. Scouts are trusted members of our extended network, not salespeople or affiliates.
The Role
What Is a Venture Scout?
A Venture Scout is someone who helps Northstar Ventures discover promising founders and startups. Scouts expand our reach into startup ecosystems around the world, particularly into communities, cities, and sectors where exceptional founders are building but may not yet have access to early-stage capital.
Scouts do not make investment decisions. They identify opportunities. When a scout refers a founder who applies to Northstar Ventures, the founder's application is evaluated entirely on its merits. The scout's role is to surface people worth talking to; the investment team does the rest.
This is not a sales role. It is not affiliate marketing. It is not a gig. Venture Scouts are people who are already embedded in startup ecosystems, already encounter exceptional founders regularly, and want a structured way to support those founders and participate in the venture community.

Receive Approval
The Northstar Ventures team reviews each application individually. Not all applications are approved.
Get Your Referral Link
Approved scouts receive a unique, permanent referral link (e.g. northstarventures.com/apply?ref=SCOUT123) and access to their dashboard.
Share With Founders
Share your link with founders you believe in. When they visit Northstar Ventures through your link, attribution is automatic.
Track Referrals
Monitor your referrals in your private scout dashboard. See total referrals and their progress — no founder details are shared.
Earn Rewards
Approved scouts may receive rewards for qualified referrals in accordance with program guidelines. Rewards are discretionary.

How Tracking Works
Transparent Referral Tracking
Referral attribution is automatic and transparent. Founders never need to enter a referral code manually; the system does it for them.
When a founder visits Northstar Ventures through your referral link, their visit is stored securely using browser-level tracking. This attribution persists throughout their entire application process, even if they close the browser and return later, up to 90 days from the initial visit.

We prioritise quality over quantity — we are looking for people who are already embedded in the ecosystems where great founders operate.
Anyone can apply, but approval is not automatic. Each application is reviewed individually by the Northstar Ventures team. We are selective about who joins the program because we want the network to remain credible and high-quality.

Founders never need to enter a referral code manually — the tracking happens seamlessly in the background throughout the entire application process.
